When we got to Louisville, we could never have imagined that the Lord would bring us Chinese friends here. We have met a couple who lives incredibly close to us (down the apartment complex from us) who we have started a pretty good relationship with. Rick and Sharon have really been great to our family and they love LaoLao as well. We have been going to church with them and have gotten good time to talk with them. We have had them over to our house for meals and have really been thankful for the ability to speak in Chinese with them. I'm not sure which couple it is better for, us or them? Probably us! We are starving for Chinese (food and language).
I also could not have guessed that I would actually be able to use Chinese at work, either. We have 3 Chinese co-workers whom I get to speak with on a regular basis. They are so sweet and it is great to soak up the time with them. One is from Harbin, one from Guangzhou and one from Taiwan, so I really get a great sense of the vastness of the country when I speak with the three of them! It is so different. I also get to use Chinese a semi-regular basis at work. I never thought that taking the HSK would actually help me out in any job. I thought it was a shot in the dark and really just a good reason to make myself study. However, I've found out that I can actually read things in Chinese like invoices and contracts (pretty much all you need to read when you work in energy management), so it has even been a huge blessing to be able to read Chinese.
It has just been pretty amazing to watch God prepare these relationships for us before we even got here. We have been insanely blessed by having Chinese speakers around us to remind us of His love for them and also to remind us just of all things China. We miss it some days.

Chinese dinner...yum!
Rick and Sharon (sweet, sweet, sweet)
Our friends from church who are also from OKC! Whaddya know? They apparently love some Chinese food and people as well.
Rick and Sharon actually gave us a Christmas tree. It seems really strange that a Chinese couple would give an American couple a Christmas tree, but that is what happened. Who knew? Maybe we still have it up because I love celebrating and it makes our living room pretty every night. I am really appreciative of their thoughtfulness and generosity.
