We have been back in Oklahoma for about a week and a half. Transitions always get me. I think I am ready, and then BAM! the time comes and goes for us to leave one place and change to another and my whole head feels like it is spinning.
We have really enjoyed getting to see family. We've had some of the craziest things happen to our family during these 2 1/2 weeks of us being here in Oklahoma. Drew's grandfather passed away. We were very thankful that God had us here during this time so that we could see him the week before he passed and be with the family while all of us were grieving. It was really special as well because Drew's sister stayed on for some time between his passing and the funeral and we got to spend such important time with her.
This weekend held a second turn of events for this family. Drew's brother was a victim of a drive by shooting. We have been shocked by that! His brother is doing well and is now also staying with Drew's parents to recover. Another reason we are so thankful to be here without jobs and with time to be able to help out and just sit and listen.
Needless to say, we are in desperate need of prayer. With all of this change happening in our family of three (moving from Louisville, coming to Oklahoma, and getting ready to head to China), we are also dealing with grieving and shock over the other events that have happened. Please pray for us as we experience all of these different things together and make sense out of what God is doing.
I'm a little nervous about going through all of these different things and then running out of gas emotionally, mentally and spiritually before we set foot back in the Mainland. We need the help of the Lord Almighty!
Here are some pics of our time back here. I'll have to post some of leaving Louisville in a while and explain all of the blessings of the church supporting us and friends sending us off.
